On Monday, Kevin Kammeraad visited our school and put on a great show! We laughed and enjoyed his story telling and music! Thank you to the Parent Club for providing such a great assembly!
A big thank you to Mr. Wilson for visiting each Islander classroom this week and teaching us a lesson on circuits and electromagnets! We had a blast!!! We hope to see you all this Friday from 8:00am-10:00am for our final Learning Celebration of the school year! The students have been working so hard on some writing projects that we would love to show off to you!
Don't forget! Tomorrow is our last field trip of the school year! Year 1 Islanders will be going to Forest Hill Nature Center. They will leave at 8:30, and will be back by 2:00. Students will need a cold lunch. Please remember tomorrow is early release day. If students are not picked up by 2:30, they will be sent to the After-School Program.
Year 2 Islanders will be going to the Capitol and leaving at 8:00 SHARP! These students will also need to bring a cold lunch and will return to school by 4:00. These students will need to be picked up promptly, or they will go to the After-School Program. If you have any questions, please let us know! We are all very excited!!! We are so proud of our two teams from our school this year! The girls trained hard and their efforts showed this weekend at the annual 5K in Clare! Many thanks to the coaches for their help all season, and for the parents, families and teachers for their support! It was wonderful seeing so many run with the girls this year! Wow!!! The Year 1 Islanders took part in Environmental Education Day with Mr. LeValley and friends at Chipp-a-Waters Park! We had so much fun in all of the hands-on activities! The students were so respectful and did an excellent job representing the Renaissance Academy! The Islanders have been reviewing the parts of speech and were able to create silly stories today! Do you have a Mad Libs book at home? Kids love these and they are a great way to practice our Language Arts skills! The Islanders have been getting plenty of hands-on practice with area and perimeter in the classroom! What are some ways you can get your child more excited about this math topic at home? Readers make great leaders on the field, too! The CMU football team came to our school on Friday and read to us! We also had the chance to ask the players questions and listen to personal experiences on and off the field about why we should never give up and to never stop reading! The Islanders want to thank you all for coming to our most recent Learning Celebration! We enjoyed showing you our Social Studies projects! |
